Recently, China's first "leader" group standard for automotive wiring harnesses, "Quality Grading and Evaluation Requirements for Automotive Wiring Harnesses", has been officially approved. This standard is led by Radio and Television Metrology, and jointly developed by Guangdong Connector Association, Guangdong Cable Association, and China National Institute of Standardization. The preparation work was launched in July, which will help industry enterprises improve the quality management system of automotive wiring harnesses and enhance their overall market competitiveness.

This group standard is formulated based on the "Implementation Opinions on Improving Manufacturing Reliability" jointly issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and five other departments, as well as the "Key Areas for Implementing Enterprise Standards in 2023" issued by the State Administration for Market Regulation. The documents propose to encourage leading institutions, universities, and inspection and testing institutions to cooperate, strengthen the construction of reliability testing and verification capabilities, and promote the implementation of the "leader" system for enterprise standards, encouraging enterprises, industry associations, and professional institutions to jointly participate in standard formulation and revision< With the accelerated popularization of automotive electrification and intelligence, as well as the comprehensive improvement of automotive reliability and safety, the industry has put forward higher technical requirements for high and low voltage wiring harnesses, especially audio and video wiring harnesses and high voltage wiring harnesses. Therefore, establishing the evaluation requirements for "leader" standards - automotive high and low voltage wiring harness standards - can help promote automotive wiring harness enterprises to improve their product quality, encourage and guide enterprises to develop enterprise standards higher than recommended standards; At the same time, it is used to guide third-party evaluation agencies in carrying out their work, publish enterprise standard rankings and "leader" lists
